So my homie from high school contacted me asking for a photo shoot. He was looking for an outdoor shoot and his inspiration was a recent Ralph Lauren catalog. I instantly thought that the perfect location would be Soho, NY. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t cooperating on the day of the shoot. So we shot at the studio instead. I actually really loved the studio setting. It fit perfectly with his look.

Had a Big Shoot with my man Benni Basil aka the Moden Day Malcolm. Check him out on his MYSPACE. We did a couple studio looks and then hit the streets of Philly for some new visuals to go along with his newest mixtape that just dropped. I want to thank my assistant for the day, Tyrone, who helped me trek around Philly and also grabbed the behind the scenes pictures that are posted at the end.

Nucci Reyo in Philly

It’s raining outside and you have an MC who came all the way from North Jersey to shoot with you, do you cancel? Nope shoot it anyway. That’s what happened when I teamed up with Jersey’s own Nucci Reyo. Check him and his music out @ www.gstate.biz . We found a couple of good spots in Philly to get the shoot done. The rain wasn’t too bad, I feel it set the mood for most of the shots we took that day.

At Hello World Music Studio’s with Dilemma

Finally had a couple hours to spare before the baby came so I took a trip out to Center City Philadelphia to visit my brotha-from-anotha Dan AKA Dilemma. WOW!!! I havent seen him since he moved out of his home studio in NJ-talk about moving up! We had a good time and listened to some amazing tracks, I wish you could hear some of the recipies he’s been cooking up in there. Amazing.

On location in Brooklyn with DJ

Went on a road trip not too long ago to Brooklyn for a photoshoot for up and coming R&B Star, David Jones. We had fun roaming around the Brooklyn Bridge area and would up with some great shots to start his campaign. I didn’t know that next to the bridge was a State Park and the “Rangers” removed us from the grounds. Check out his music on his MYSPACE.

Camp Lo Mafia Magazine Shoot

I hooked up with Camp Lo for the first time early last year thanks to Miss Ciji MIchelle. We got together in NYC for an interview and cover shoot for Mafia Mag, and a couple other placements in the hip-hop world. I personally havent heard to much form these dudes since Luchini back in High School but they have been pumpin out albums ever since. Check out their progress on Camp Lo’s Official Myspace

I had the oppourtunity to work with Felix Natal on a Photoshoot for Rap Fanatic Magazine with Jadakiss. Jada is defninitely one of the coolest dudes in hip-hop. He just a regular guy-not hollywood or cocky or anything like that. He was happy that we could shoot him without tellin him to lift his hat up cause thats what most photographers ask him to do – lift his hat from over his eyes. But thats the way his is, why change it. His album dropped a couple days after the shoot and its worth a listen. Stop over at Jadakiss.com and show some love.

Got a call from Tiffany cause she has an artist from Philly that needs some pics done. Got a message from Philly’s own Deap who had actually been looking for the photographer who shot Young Chris’ lastest pics I shot them early 2008 but was never given credit on his website for taking them. I shot Kris last summer for the first time Here. The shoot was great so he called me back during the fall for this shoot. Perfect timing, The leaves on the trees had all turned colors, plus there were a lot that had already fallen to the ground. These were taken in a big park in Trenton, NJ. We did a bunch of different studio shots as well but they aren’t done yet…

Meet….Pedro Sincere

I hooked up on and all day shoot with my homie Pedro couple months ago. He has an Album dropping soon and he needed some new promo pics to lace the album, website, etc. We did a full day shoot including studio flicks and then went up to his hometown – Trenton, NJ to shoot around his neighborhood. Overall the shoot went smooth, even with Pedro comin down with some type of flu. We started out with some plain backgrounds just to have some pics that can drop into flyers, mixtapes, webdesign (By the way, I saw a sneek peek of his website and its bananas!) Here are some of the location shots:

New Pics of Neef Buck

I had the oppourtunity to take some pics of Neef Buck from Young Gunz a couple days ago. These are some pics for some upcoming flyers. This was a quick 2 light setup at one of their spots in Philly. The shoot didn’t take 30 minutes, but we got some hot flicks out of it. I’m interested to see what kind of work his graphic people can do with these.

I got an email last week saying that I had a new friend. His name was Kyle. Kyle heard about me thru Yaya. Kyle has a friend named Kris. They needed some last minute pictures because their previous photog fell thru (whoever he was…thank you for passing off your business.)

OK back to Kris…

I got the email thursday and had the shoot on friday. And they needed prints by Saturday 6am. I’m glad I invested in my Canon Pixma Pro 9000. Ritz camera photos just don’t cut it any more. They needed this pics for a professional modeling portfolio, you can’t go in there with copy and pasted pics from your myspace page on 8.5 x 11 printer paper. I dont usually print myself but this was an emergency situation.

Kyle took some pics and rolled out cause he had people waiting on him back at the barbershop. lol ( he was at the studio over an hour )

Kris was good for his first big shoot. He can handle anything being that he’s served his country in Iraq.

We shot a some indoors then went out to Philly for some location pics. It was hot-outside and inside. I just bought 2 more Alienbees so my studio heats up alot faster. I need another A/C just for that room.

Here go some of the pics from the shoot.

Outside pics were crazy. I had bought a couple of ND Filters from B and H on my day date to NYC last Thursday. They helped lower my f stop for a better depth of field while in bright sunlight. It pretty much makes a f/8 turn into f/2.8. Yummy. So here are my first shots with the filters. I got one for my 50mm 1.4 and one for the 70-200mm 2.8 and 17-35mm 2.8.
Ii also brought out the Vegabond II with 1 Alienbee AB800 and a 22″ Beauty Dish.

The difference between f7.1 and f1.4. I forgot I had the filter on and I was shooting natural light now so I was like lets stop it down and see how it comes out. I rarely shoot at f1.4 because the focal plane is so small its hard to get anything in focus, resulting in “soft” images.

Day 4… D is for Dilemma

Dilemma. What can I say? He’s been my dude since back when “dude” was the thing to say 1st time around. (we 80′s babies) He’s a beast behind the music. (His blog is one of my links on the right) He did all of my soundtracks for videos when I needed for school. He’s extremely creative, kind of the way I am with photography. Always Grindin’. I hit him up this past week for some pics. I was brainstorming my list of letters for my 26 day “blog-a-thon” and “D” was automatically followed by “ilemma” So here he is. Last Photo’s I Did for Chris were for a mixtape that was gonna be called “Last Man Standing” being that he was one of the few that was still signed to Rock-A-Fella records. B is for…. Big City Boyz

Took these pics back in February. Talented hip-hop duo from Philadelphia. We got together to take some promo shots so they have something fresh to shop their new album coming soon. These were shot with the Nikon D80 and various lenses. You can check the “more properties” on Flickr to see the photo-stats for each individual picture.

We did a couple shot around their neighborhood and played around in the studio couple days later.

Meet Damon aka Dink the Clown

These were pics I took of my cousin Damon in the streets of Philadelphia. He’s a performer.He does parties and youth events. Helps keep kids off the mean streets of Philly.He’s nice at what he does. These pics were for an agency that has him signed up for a reality show in the making. I took these a while ago. I was using the Nikon D80 with SB800 strobes and shoot-thru umbrellas. This was a good learning experience for me since I dont do too much on location night photography. Thanks to Ski for helping with the equipment and setups.
